The yeast infection treatment guide below is based on medically proven anti-fungals and systems that have been proven to work for treating candida yeast infections. Because everything here is medically proven, all these suggestions will work for everyone, even though everyone is different with unique physiology and various underlying problems.
However, those underlying problems may have to be corrected if they affect you. I discuss these problems towards the bottom of this page and in detail on the cause page.
If you are doubtful or not sure that you have candida yeast then you could do the Ultimate Colon Cleanse 1 or 2 Pack for a month or two. The Ultimate Cleanse cleanses the body of compacted wastes, yeasts and parasites while helping to strengthen the intestinal wall and improve digestion. You also get a free supply of an 8 strain probiotic to help your bacterial colonies re-establish themselves and balance pH levels in the intestine. The right pH environment in the intestine, creates conditions that are unfriendly to foreign pathogens and promotes good bacterial growth, which keeps bad these pathogens under control.
While you do the cleanse you should eliminate sugars, dairy, gluten
(grains), soy, yeast foods, sugar, trans fats, fructose, Splenda and
aspartame from your diet.
After the end of the cleanse, begin to add in some foods from the list above back in a little at a time. Make a note of how your body reacts to that food. If you discover something that doesn't agree with you, then it is highly likely that you have a food allergy to that food and your body is creating IgE or IgG antibodies to it. From that point on, if you wish to maintain your health and keep feeling good, don't eat that food.
Very simple, yet extremely effective. It really does work in many cases.

This message is to everyone who is searching for the "final answer" for Candida symptoms: THIS IS THE FINAL ANSWER!
If you don't fully believe, then go right ahead & check out all the sites that offer advice on yeast infections. Sure, you may find some very useful tips that will temporarily relieve some of the symptoms.
Due to some of the mis-information that is out there, you may also get some bad advice that could lead you down the wrong path. It will be a waste of time, effort & energy, not to mention money and who has any of that to spare? To be cured (not just a temporary relief of symptoms), you will end up right back here because this IS the "final answer"!
Dan has the best of
the best info available! If there are any GOOD tips for temporarily
relief of yeast infections, Dan already has them all compiled here for
your convenience and is charging you ZERO, for this wealth of
How do I know this? Been there, done that. 2 years later, back here now, looking to buy a T-shirt! (Ha, Ha!) Sadly, I wish I would have invested more time (two years ago) on this site to gain a more thorough answer. But I am back now. So far, I am 90% better. After my 2 year journey, I now find out that everything that did work for me is ALL mentioned right here, within this site.
!!Colon cleanse!!, the RIGHT Probiotics, Enzymes, Herbs, & Diet are at the top of the list of MUST DO.
Step 1 - Remove the Biofilm
It is a medically proven fact that yeasts start building biofilms over the top of themselves within 24 hours of colonization. This biofilm allows them to hide from the hosts immune system and slowly release spores in an attempt to spread.
The biofilm results in many prescription medications being ineffective for chronic infections. As a result, herbs are also ineffective.
We know that certain enzymes have the ability to remove these biofilms and therefore improve the effectiveness of both prescription medications and herbs.
We also know that certain enzymes will attack the cell wall of yeasts, damage it and sometimes kill the yeast cell. However, we also know that the yeast cell will scramble its cell wall structure in an attempt to survive.
If you don't use an enzyme formula that contains all the enzymes needed for attacking every part of the biofilm and cell wall structure, the yeast cell will more than likely survive the enzymatic attack.
After removing the biofilm we know that medications and herbs effects against yeasts are greatly improved. So, it is best to use medications or an herbal formula with enzymes.
Would you like to verify this information? If so please click here.
Step 2 - Use Herbs to Get the Candida Yeast Under Control
Even though an herb is proven to work for a species of yeast, that does not mean it will work on all of them. It also means the herb may not work on a subtype of the same species. Let me show you what I am talking about.
Take a look at these stool test results from a person that is infected with both Candida albicans and Candida glabrata.
Scroll down and you will see a page where they tested both medications and herbs to see what kills the yeast. The farther the black bar is to the right, the more effective the herb.
In the Candida Albicans section you see, in order of effectiveness:
Grapefruit seed extract
Uva ursi and undecylenic acid have some effect but not as much as the others.
In the Candida glabrata section you see, in order of effectiveness:
Grapefruit seed extract
Caprylic acid and undecylenic acid have some effect but not as much as the other four.
Now take a look at these Candida albicans test results. In order of effectiveness you see:
On the first C. albicans test caprylic acid worked well, on this test it does not. Also, on the first test, both Uva ursi and undecylenic acid did not work well but on this Candida albicans subtype they do.
Now lets take a look at this test from a person with Candida glabrata. For effectiveness you see:
Grapefruit seed extract
Uva ursi has no effect but on the first C. glabrata test above it was the best. Black walnut, wormwood, and golden seal, which are typically used in cheaper cleanses and work better for parasites than yeasts, have no effect.
What's my point?
If you haven't done a stool test to see what herbs have an effect on the particular species subtype that you are infected with, you are better off to use all of them. Or, use a blended formula that contains many medically proven herbs. The right blended formula will greatly improve your success rate.
According to the test records we have on file. The most effective agents against Candida albicans, Candida parapsilosis, Candida kruseii, Candida lambica, Candida glabrata, Candida tropicalis, Rhodotorula, Geotrichum, and Saccharomyces cerevisiae/boulardii, (yes people get infected by S. boulardii) are:
Uva Ursi is effective against 8
Plant Tannins are effective against 8
Grapefruit seed extract is effective against 6
Berberine is effective against 6
Caprylic acid is effective against 5
Undecylenic acid is effective against 5
Oregano oil is effective against 4
However, Uva ursi is not recommended to be taken over 10 days for safety reasons, although some manufacturers suggest 7 days, rest for 7 days then repeat if necessary. You can find out more about Uva ursi here.
Plant tannins aren't really a viable herb to take as explained on this webpage. These lab tests above were done in a petri dish and most plant tannins do not survive the trip through the stomach, the acidity renders them ineffective. However, drinking green tea once a day would provide you with some.
There are more herbs that are effective for yeasts that the labs don't test and you can read about them on our Herbal webpage here. There are also herbal studies specific to Candida yeast on this webpage as well.
Step 3 - Add a Probiotic That Actually Works for Yeast
Most of the time, it is a reduction in good bacteria that allows a yeast to get out of control to start with. Therefore, taking a probiotic is pretty much a requirement to recover completely.
If you look around the Internet on how to treat yeast infections you will find that everyone suggests you take a probiotic, and usually, they will be suggesting that you take Lactobacillus acidophilus.
Yes, Lactobacillus acidophilus does have an effect on yeasts and does have many other beneficial effects in the body, but... it is not the most effective probiotic bacteria to use when treating yourself for yeast infections.
Like Tamara's testimonial says,
I had surgery last December, ended up with an infection and 2 months of antibiotics. I had to redo the surgery in March with another month of prophylactic antibiotics due to the infection last time! Well, after that I ended up with c-diff that needed 2 rounds of antibiotics to get rid of. After my last round of antibiotics, I ended up with a vaginal yeast infection with the yeast C. glabrata, a VERY resistant yeast!! Now I'm two months down the road with this terrible infection and found your site. I've tried it all and was already taking tons of probiotics. Apparently I wasn't taking the RIGHT ones. 3 days after starting profase, biofase, and floraphage I felt 80% better!! Now that I've been on them for a week, the infection is gone!!! I don't usually write reviews, but I want others to know not to give up!! This stuff really works!! I also bought the microfase but I can't use it so close to surgery(I need one more surgery, boo!) but I can't wait to start using it after!! Thank you and don't stop making this stuff!! I'm going to order another round so I don't run out after surgery!! Thank you!!
Tamara really nailed it! You have to take the RIGHT Ones!
What are the right probiotics? Read this page and find out.
Putting The Yeast Infection Treatment Plan Together
1. You know you need something to remove the biofilm and as outlined on this webpage, certain enzymes are extremely effective for this.
We suggest Biofase but you can read the enzyme product comparison here and decide for yourself.
2. For maximum cleansing effects after the biofilm is removed, you will need some herbs to kill the excess yeast. We suggest Microfase, which is a blend of Burdock root, Gymnema sylvestre, Caprylic acid, Berberine, Oregano extract, Grapefruit seed extract, Cinnamon bark, and Neem leaf.
If you decide to use seprate herbs then get all of these below.
Grapefruit seed extract
and either Caprylic acid or Undecylenic acid or both.
If you want to get extremely aggressive add Uva ursi.
3. Pick a probiotic designed for yeast infections to use. We have links to reviews on this webpage towards the bottom you can check out. Or, just go with the best and use Profase.
Follow the diet on this website and here is a good food list.
Take 1 to 3 capsules of Biofase at least one hour before breakfast and at bedtime with 1 or 2 capsules of Profase.
Note: I would probably start at 1 and 1 to minimize die-off. As I was able I would work up to 3 Biofase with 2 Profase.
Take the herbs at the dose suggested on the label 30 minutes before breakfast and 30 minutes before dinner.
If taking Uva ursi, take that as suggested on the label for a week then stop for a week. After a weeks rest you can repeat the cycle.
That's it, pretty simple.
If you have any of these conditions, it is best to treat the infection directly at the same time. This inside out approach works most of the time.
Vaginal Yeast Infection Remedies
Skin Yeast Infection Treatments
Oral Yeast Infection Treatments
The most common problems are:
I strongly recommend you visit the
Cause of Yeast Infections
page so you can find out what caused your infection and what possible
underlying problems need to be addressed. Those pages also explain how
to fix these problems. The two most common underlying problems are mercury poisoning and estrogen dominance.
A Couple Other Things to Consider About Yeast Infection Treatment
I must add that this is one of the most over self-diagnosed health conditions there is. Many people will suspect they have candida because their doctor cannot seem to find anything wrong with them, even though that person exhibits many symptoms of candida, but they have no medical proof. Many of these cases are nothing more than a toxic colon and liver with an overgrowth of bad bacteria, parasites, or leaky gut syndrome created by either prescription drugs or poor diets, which causes dysbiosis. Many others have mercury poisoning or herpes that often mimic the symptoms of candida yeast.
So I have included a page that talks about candida yeast testing so you can find out if you have candida yeast or an overgrowth of bad bacteria, parasites, dysbiosis, vitamin and mineral deficiencies, mercury poisoning, out of balance hormones, inflammation or poor functioning mitochondria, etc.
If you're a woman and suffer from recurring vaginal yeast infections I strongly suggest you check your hormone levels. Especially for excess estrogen because it controls vaginal sugar levels and the sugar feeds yeast.
Yeast Infection Cure System for Systemic Yeast
This yeast infection treatment plan is the most aggressive plan you can do and is suggested if you have had this problem for years. If the infection is also systemic, I do suggest following this plan and the appropriate plan to treat the affected area directly.
Half of the stool tests results I see show no yeast but they do show bad bacteria. If this is you or you suspect that your problem is bad bacteria and not yeast related, then I would follow the bad bacteria plan at the provided link.

It would also be a very good idea to take some sort of multi-vitamin/mineral formula everyday to support the overall health of the body. The FDA and AMA have recently acknowledged, and now recommends, that every one takes one everyday. They knew back in the 30's that most of us tend to be mineral and vitamin deficient because of nutrient depletion of the soils. Presently the worldwide soil depletion levels of nutrients are currently down 56 to 87% with the US being the worst.
Consider these generally recognized facts about common nutrient destroyers:
I am not going to get into all the prescription drugs, there are to many of them, and they all have their side effects.
A very good multivitamin/mineral formula is Total Balance for Men and Women
Total Balance by Xtend-life comes in mens and womens formulas specifically designed for the respective sexes needs. The product is made to GMP standards with USP ingredients and you will feel a difference when you take them. Xtend-life makes their own products, are ISO registered, and have implemented a hazard analysis critical control point programs (HACCP). Very few companies make their own products folks, most companies are simply middle men with the product being made in China or some other third world country. Try them, these supplements really work.
The information provided in the above article about natural therapies for treating Candida infections adequately covers all the different natural treatment options possible.
Fungal infections and, in particular, those caused by species of the Candida genus, are growing at an alarming rate and have high associated rates of mortality and morbidity (1). These infections, generally referred to as candidiasis, range from superficial rashes caused by an overgrowth of the yeasts on mucosal surfaces to life-threatening disseminated mycoses. Currently used anti-fungals act by targeting the biosynthesis of the fungal cell wall. However, increasing emergence of strains resistant to these conventional drugs, especially among non-albicans Candida species (2), presents a significant hurdle in their successful application in the clinical setting. Also, design of new antifungals is limited by the similarity between fungal and human cells, making it difficult to identify molecules that specifically target the microbial cell while not damaging the host. Novel approaches are therefore being explored to successfully inhibit growth of pathogenic Candida species.
Systematic testing of compounds from natural sources including substances/extracts produced by animals, plants or microorganisms, have resulted in the identification of many molecules that inhibit growth of Candida cells. Phyto-therapeutics represent such substances/extracts obtained from plant sources. Currently, there is an increasing number of phyto-therapeutics being identified as efficient against Candida species including extracts isolated from garlic (Allium sativum L., Tulbaghia alliace or Tulbaghia violacea (3), coconut (Cocos nucifera) or virgin coconut oil (4), mint (Mentha piperita L.) or sage (Salvia officinalis L.). Phyto-therapeutics such as tea tree oil (5) and bitter orange oil also show come activity, reports say. Traditional systems of medicine such as the Chinese (6)and Ayurvedic systems also report use of Curcuma longa (turmeric) and Magnolia officinalis etc. as effective anti-fungals. These phyto-therapeutics are attractive in being natural and therefore perceived to be safer than conventional anti-fungals.
It has been known now, for a long time, that an imbalance in the indigenous microbiome of the host fosters Candida overgrowth. Therefore the use of probiotics can be beneficial for the treatment of mucosal candidiasis, especially, for vaginal candidiasis (7). In this sense, a few probiotic products (8) are currently available in the market. The exact mechanism by which these beneficial organisms limit Candida growth (9) remains to be elucidated. However, scientists believe that the limited nutrient availability, and competition for binding sites in various host niches might be the reason for the probiotic activity against Candida. Not just in vaginal candidiasis, but recent evidence implicates the beneficial effects of useful commensals in treating invasive candidiasis in the gut (10). Clinical studies indicate that probiotics may reduce Candida colonization on human mucosal surfaces, relieve signs and symptoms of fungal infection, and enhance the antifungal effect of conventional therapy. Thus probiotics have the potential to sustain a healthy mucosal microbiota by acting both as prophylactic and adjunctive therapy against candidiasis.
Vitamin and mineral supplementation can also be very useful in correcting the deficiencies that allow candida infections to grow unchecked. For instance, vitamin B3 (11) has been identified as a potential anti-fungal agent as it can specifically inhibit a Candida enzyme. Both normal and drug-resistant strains responded to this therapy.
Just wanted to let you know that I started on the x-tend life products about 10 days ago. I have to say they have been amazing. My brain feels like it has come alive for the first time ever, and my mood has improved dramatically. I have been taking the Neuro-Serentity along with omega 3's the Women's Total Balance and Hormone Support for Her. I haven't properly started on the mercury detox yet but i am glad i discovered these beforehand. I'm sure they will aid in supporting my brain through the detox and have noticed some of the ingredients in these products although in smaller amounts will help to start detoxing. ALA , MSM, selenium etc. I have also started taking modifilan(not sure if you are familiar with this) was recommended by a local nutritionist for heavy metal detox.
Have to go back for hair analysis next week and also see what they want me to do in regards to metal detox.
So there is my update and thank you, thanks to you for your advise and for helping me narrow down my supplement regime to the above products.
In my opinion, the best multi-vitamin that is made in the US is Intramax. Intramax contains 415 nutrients along with probiotics for yeast infection treatment. All nutrients are derived from organically grown plants, not rocks, so they are in a chelated ionic form. This makes them 100% absorbable verses about 10% absorbable for inorganic mineral or rock forms.
I take half a cap of Intramax every other day and have run medical tests on myself proving it does work. The capsules aren't near as effective, although I did not test Total Balance.
After the candida yeast is gone you could do the Liver Cleansing System for the brave and daring! Just kidding, it is really a piece of cake, and will greatly improve your digestion and detoxification system. If you pass a large amount of stones you will want to do this again in 2 weeks. Keep doing these cleanses 2 weeks apart until there are no more stones. This cleanse takes about a day and a half.
I just LOVE your website. It has sooo much needed info. It has been a blessing to me. I was so bad off before I started your program that I did not want to live anymore. You have saved my life. I only wish that my family will listen as well. They need help just like I do. Well that's all for now.
GOD BLESS YOU,
Thank You!!! that's all.... just THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Just wanted to take a minute and thank you so much for enlightening me to what doctors couldn't help me with, even through thousand dollar tests! I really appreciate what you are doing to help so many people who would be needlessly suffering.
May God Bless You Immensely
Hi Dan! I am doing great!
I feel great and have dropped 25 pounds. I have been feeling so well that I am getting more and more things done all the time, because now I really feel like doing them. I am getting lots of compliments and questions. I am anxious to see what the next few months will be like once I finish this program and see how my body handles all this. So, I will need some direction from you as to what happens next for me after the liver cleanse. I'm sure I will have more questions along the way. This is great. I have never felt so well in my life....and that's what I tell folks. I can't thank you enough.
Spreading the good word....Patti
