Can I eat Sourdough bread on the Candida diet?

by Alina

Hi Dan, I consume sourdough spelt bread from Berlin natural bakery that is yeast free. Is this not allowed? I keep it frozen and toast it when I make an almond butter sandwich (1 slice of toasted bread)

Also, is it ok if I cook for example buckwheat the night before work and fridge it. I don’t have time to cook the same day. I know it builds resistant starch.

From what I can find on the internet, that brand of bread has 22 grams of carbs per slice. That is a little excessive when most breads contain 14 grams. I wouldn't eat it but if you do, just make sure you add those carbs into your daily total and keep it between 30 to 60 grams total for the day.

You can do what you suggest with the buckwheat. Make sure you add those carbs into your daily total as well.

Any other questions let me know.
