Does black walnut hull work for eczema?

by Sari

General Use

I wasn't aware that Black Walnut had that many benefits! It sounds like a drop (tincture) a day would be good all the time for prevention rather than just trying to solve an issue for a short time - e.g. blood pressure or cancer?

Eczema

My reason for coming here was the eczema, which I have on my elbows. I have been using a purchased alcohol tincture - which surprisingly is helping (want to reduce cortisone cream) - but alcohol is also drying - so I cream it after. Is there some other method that is used for the skin issues?

Many thanks

Black walnut hull is recommended for eczema by The Herb Society of America. It soothes the external inflammation caused by this condition, much like a steroid cream. Long term use on the skin would probably be ok but I would be hesitant to use it internally long term. It can irritate the gastrointestinal tract and interact with the kidneys and liver in people with pre-existing conditions.

I have suggestions for skin yeast infections on this webpage. Some of them are other oils such as oregano, cinnamon, grapefruitseed extract, and cold pressed coconut oil. There are also a few creams that might help. Mixing them with a little olive oil or coconut oil should help the skin drying effect.

In addition, many skin infections that aren't caused by skin yeasts are a result of the body trying to dump toxins through the pores of the skin. In these cases, usually the problem is a toxic colon and quite often doing a colon cleanse, taking probiotics and eating a more natural diet clears them up.

Any other questions let me know.
