Should you take probiotics or change your diet when treating yourself for SIBO?

by Moe

I came across the SIBO section and wanted to know if probiotics are ok to take as well since you only mention Biofase, Microfase, and Floraphage.

Also, is the diet the same as the Candida Diet for SIBO?

SIBO can be caused by good or bad bacteria so we don't recommend probiotics when treating yourself for SIBO. You want to reduce the high bacteria levels, not raise them. Probiotics could be taken after the problem is resolved.

Your microbiome will be different when you consume a diet based on meats, vegetables, good fats, and some fruits, when compared to someone that consumes a high carb diet of grains and processed foods. So if you got SIBO while eating a high carb diet, switching to something like the Candida diet will change your microbiome which could resolve the overgrowth.

However, taking Biofase, Microfase, and Floraphage while eating correctly will speed up the healing process.
