Can I do the leaky gut protocol if I have yeast intolerance?

by Rossie

Years ago I did the York Test which told me I had yeast intolerance. Since cutting out all sources of yeast, even the more obscure ones like berries, nuts, mushrooms, alcohol, chocolate, coffee, and tea, I felt better but not 100%. If I want to get started on the leaky gut protocol, should I really be taking fermented foods when they are sources of yeast?

If you are intolerant to yeasts, I would not be consuming fermented foods. You could however take a probiotic that does not contain any sort of yeast such as sacchromyces boulardii.

I would also make sure the label says does not contain any yeast before using.
