I'm trying to figure out what is causing my yeast infection?

by Carla
(Wylie texas USA )

Have been on Herbalife shake for 8 days, given up sugars, bread and pasta and 3 days ago the yeast infection appeared and I am miserable. I am trying to figure out what is causing it so I can eliminate it from my diet.

Hi Carla,

It may not be caused by what you are eating at all. However, it is possible to acquire infections from S. cerevisiae and Rhodotorula mucilaginosa from foods. You can find out more about both of these species from this webpage

https://www.yeastinfectionadvisor.com/yeastspecies.html

Your doctor could take a swab sample, send it to a lab and they could determine species and test prescription drugs on it to see what kills it.

Also, have you seen this webpage

https://www.yeastinfectionadvisor.com/vaginalyeastinfection.html

If not I would take a look to see what might apply to you. That page explains many of the causes of vaginal yeast infections, although most of them are caused by an over growth in the intestine.

You might find this page to be helpful as well

Once these infections get out of control diet alone rarely clears them up.
