Treating Yeast Infections With Diet & Supplements

Updated 2/27/2021

When treating yeast infections it is helpful to be aware of what has probably happened to you allowing this imbalance to take place. This will arm you with the information you need to stay healthy throughout the rest of your life providing you do get the necessary nutrients in your daily diet. Sorry to say this is almost impossible now with worldwide soil depletion. However, almost everyone has available to them the ability to take a supplement everyday and I suggest you do so.

The Effects of Foods on The Immune System

The blood is the catalyst of life in the body. It transports and feeds the body nutrients, oxygen, carries wastes away, and is an intregal part of the immune system. It is as important as oxygen to the survival of all animal life forms, without it, life as we know it would not exist.

When a foreign substance enters the body your blood type antigen will identify the antigen as friend or foe. If the antigen is foe it signals the body to create antibodies that will target the foreign antigen for destruction. Antibodies will target that specific antigen and the body creates and stores countless numbers of specific antigens to foreign antigens it has been exposed to. A constant battle is fought as foreign antigens try to change form to something the body’s antigens will not recognize. As the body’s antibodies wage war they attach to the foreign antigen and cause them to agglutinate, or stick together. This stickiness makes the foreign antigens easier to remove from the body. Kind of like rounding up your enemy into pens and putting them in front of a firing squad, very efficient. The macrophages have an easy time clearing them out after they have been slaughtered.

The blood types also have natural antigens to other blood types that are developed almost immediately at birth, and reaching adult levels at 4 months of age. Blood type A carries anti-B antibodies and cannot receive type B blood in a transfusion. Type B carries anti-A antibodies and cannot receive type A blood. Type AB carries no antibodies and can receive any of the blood types as a transfusion. Type O carries anti-A and anti-B antibodies so type A, B, and AB would be rejected during a transfusion. Type O is also the universal blood donor and can give blood to all the other types with no rejection. Our blood antibodies for each blood type are so strong that if you added type A to Type O the rejection and resulting agglutination would be immediately visible on a glass slide with the naked eye.

Right now you are probably wondering what in the world this has to do with treating yeasts infections or any other illness? Stay with me here please as I explain.

All foods and life contain diverse proteins that are made up of cells that contain monosaccharides and fats, glycoproteins. These food proteins are called lectins, they have agglutinating(stickiness) properties that can affect your blood. These lectins are a powerful way the cells attach themselves to other organisms. The body’s organs, like the liver, use lectins to gather up bacteria and virus's to dispose of them. Germs, bacteria, viruses, etc, will often use this ability to attach themselves to organ specific areas in your body and begin to agglutinate your blood cells. The same thing happens with foods that are incompatible for your blood type. The food proteins attack your organs and begin to clump up your blood cells in that area of the organ it has attacked.

Lectins cause the immune system to manufacture antibodies against them. An allergic reaction to foods is a perfect example of this happening and is indeed what is happening. Lectins can interfere with protein digestion, wheat is a good example as it inhibits an enzyme called amino peptidase from breaking down proteins into amino acids. Lectins from wheat can cause inflammatory conditions such as fibromyalgia and arthritis. The common dietary supplements prescribed for arthritis, chondrotin and glucosamine bind the wheat germ lectin.

Legume lectins damage the microvilla of the intestine. Wheat lectins can cause permeability in the intestinal walls resulting in leaky gut syndrome. Several food lectins block digestive hormones and can hinder the digestion of fats, proteins, and carbohydrates. Lectins can cause the pancreas, liver, and intestines to enlarge from the release of chemicals called polyamines. Basically, if you are allergic to that specific food lectin, it will create damage within your body.

This clumping can cause ibs, cirrhosis, arthritis, kidney disease, fatigue, autoimmune disorders, sinus problems, hormonal disorders, obesity, acid reflux, colitis, depression and anxiety to name a few. The immune system is constantly fighting and trying to remove these lectins that are attacking it from the foods you eat. Eventually the immune system gets tired of fighting, worn out and frazzled, candida takes control and spreads because the immune system is so weak and your system so out of balance. Other illness and symptoms often accompany this condition as well.

These food allergies have altered the intestinal immune system where 75% of your immune system is found. For treating yeast infections knowing which foods are causing this reaction can be extremely beneficial to your recovery and your overall health. The only accurate testing for food allergies is the IgG allergens blood test, all others are a waste of money. If you can afford this test then by all means have it done, if not I have another alternative below.

Treating Yeast Infections By Eliminating Allergy Foods

To be very frank, candida is a very over diagnosed condition these days. Unless you have an obvious yeast infection that has been diagnosed by a doctor? You are probably just suffering from food allergies that have altered your intestinal environment making you toxic inside. If you eliminate the obvious allergic foods and take some supplements to restore your health, most often that is all you need to do.

  • The most common allergies to foods involve gluten including wheat, barley, rye, oats, spelt, kamut, it has been estimated 75% of people are allergic to these foods, especially wheat. The other prevalent allergy foods are dairy, corn, eggs, soy, nuts, tomatoes, peppers, potatoes, eggplant, citrus, peanuts, and yeast (baker's and brewer's). Simply eliminate all these foods and foods containing them from your diet for 12 weeks. I would also eliminate sugar and sugar substitutes as well if possible. I would follow this supplement regimen:

  • Take a great probiotic such as Profase, Custom Probiotics 11-Strain or CP-1 to help restore good bacterial function and populations. 1 capsule 2 x a day would be sufficient.

  • Add more fiber to your diet in the form of ground flax seeds, vegetables, fruit, nuts, and seeds. Fiber helps good bacteria thrive.

  • Take a good digestive enzyme to help breakdown other foods you may be allergic to and to help clean up the excess waste in your intestine.

  • Take an Omega 3 supplement everyday that is certified mercury, metal, and toxin free according to USP standards.

  • Take a good daily multivitamin and mineral supplement such as Intramax that has been synergistically designed to work in the body, and is USP and GMP pharmaceutically certified for purity. Don't take cheap supplements, this is your life and health you are messing with, not your car!

After 12 weeks I am willing to bet you will see and feel a huge difference. At that time begin to reintroduce one food that you had eliminated every 4 or 5 days. Keep a journal and monitor how that food is making you feel. If the results are negative then you know for certain that that food is causing an allergic reaction and you should not be eating it. This knowledge can help you for the rest of your life and the benefits of a life free from illness and disease speaks for itself.

If you don't want to go thru this hassle, get Food Allergy tested over at the directlabs.com website.

I would still at least take the above supplements because they are proven to support optimal health. You could skip the digestive enzymes.
